Setup Multi-Factor Authentication in Office 365
In order to have more security on your Office accounts we require setting up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This allows you to have two or more verifications factors to gain access to your account, reducing the likelihood of an unauthorized person gaining access to your Panorama account.
Initial setup of Multi-factor Authentication
- Please contact the IT Department before proceeding so that we can complete the backend setup.
- Please download a MFA app to your phone. If you use VPN then you already have such an app on your phone. Otherwise, we recommend using either Google Authenticator or Authy. Both can be found on the iPhone App Store or Google Play Store.
- Once IT has confirmed that everything is setup navigate to the outlook.office.com.
- Login using your Panorama e-mail address and password.
- You will then be prompted to "Provide Additional Informational". Click Next.
- The next screen will ask "How should we contact you?". Click Setup Up.
- Open up your MFA app and click Add. Point the phone at the screen, the app will take a picture of the QR code on the screen.
- Click Next in the web browser.
- You will be returned to the main window, where you can click Next again.
- In the MFA app on your phone it will now be displaying a code that changes every 30 seconds. Type in the displayed code into the textbox and click Verify.
Moving forward, any time you access your email via the web (Office Online) or change your password, you will be prompted to enter the code from the app.
If you get your Panorama e-mail using Apple Mail on your iPhone you will need to follow the below instructions in order to reauthenticate your account.
1. On your iPhone go to Settings - Mail - Account
2. Remove the Panorama Exchange account.
You will receive a prompt to confirm you want to do this and once you hit confirm it may take a few minutes for the account to be removed.
3. Once the account is removed you will need to reauthenticate the account by re-adding it.
4. Press "Exchange" and enter your e-mail address and provide a description (eg. Panorama e-mail)
5. Press sign-in at the next prompt.
6. Follow the instructions by entering your e-mail password and the MFA code (6-digit code from the Auth app)
If you don't perform the above steps you will notice the exchange password prompt periodically show on your device. Even if you put the correct password in the field it will say it's incorrect.
